The wind and rain was crazy last night but the house is still standing. I only lost power for 3 hours and am very thankful that the storm effects were much less than originally projected for our area.
Since my office is closed today and I am on salary, today is a "gimme" day. Because I have been sewing so much I have not had the time to do some other projects. I broke out my can of ASCP and started painting a wooden bread box that I will use in a display. I will also finish the annual swap of warm weather clothing for cool weather clothing and that is always a huge pain. There are about 5 other things on my "to do" list. I will most likely ending up sewing at some point because it is just too difficult to stay away from my sewing machine!
My thoughts and prayers are for all along the East Coast affected by the storm. Thank you to everyone who commented on my post last night.
Glad you fared OK - I am home today as the Munchkin's school closed, so I decided yesterday to stay with him rather than mess with trying to get to daycare (though it would not have been a problem) - doing laundry and like you, will probably end up near the sewing machine. Going to have the Munchkin help me pick fabrics for a mug rug for his teacher.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're OK. Fortunately, we never lost power, but the wind was howling. Four inches of rain. My heart goes out to those who suffered greatly.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are ok. We were one of the lucky ones that didn't lose power. Now just watching the creek rise across the street in the meadow.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Great to hear you came through relatively unscathed. Take that "free " day and enjoy yourself !
ReplyDeleteYippie!! Glad your OK!! I did well also!!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you came through okay and yes, our thoughts are with all those who have been through so much. Here in NZ my class have been observing the news items with great interest and compassion - is difficult for us to truly comprehend the scale of the destruction. (And I have been doing the opposite to you...changing over from my winter wardrobe to the summer stuff - is like xmas as I forget half of what is in the pile until I see it again!) Best wishes!
