Motivated by guilt
Yesterday I picked up fabric to make a jumper for my granddaughter's American Girl doll. I also picked up fabric to make a jumper for my granddaughter to match. I believe I have mentioned before that I do not like making clothing and I REALLY do not like making doll clothes! Why then am I making these gifts for my granddaughter? Because of my sister...my quilty sister. She is making my granddaughter a nightgown for Christmas and one to match for the doll. What kind of a crappy Grammy would I be if I didn't do the same? I hate being motivated by guilt...

Oh Lord, 1974 is WAY TO CLOSE to 1975, which is when I graduated high school!

ReplyDeleteGee, I wonder if that means that I am historical too? :) Can't wait to see how it all turns out. I HATE making clothing of any kind! My mom bought my niece one of those dolls for Christmas and mom mentioned that I should make her an outfit, I said "I don't think so, maybe a quilt!!!"

I was 12 in 1974...... about the same age as the doll in the story. My kids asked me if I dressed like that. That and hearing my music referred to as "classic rock" really makes me feel old LOL

I so agree with you on this one. 1974 was only ... like... yesterday? Feels that way to me. So...are we now historic? I suddenly feel like a dinasour (apparently I can't speel either...giggle)
ReplyDeleteThat really smarts! LOL In 1974 I was a junior in college! If not antique, I guess I'm at least vintage! For a long time I couldn't believe that anyone born after I graduated college could be an adult already. Ha Ha on me, they're way over 30 now.

Oy 1974! I was 17. Oh those were the days! I was at Reading High in 1974 and boy did I not know what was ahead of me! This is a cute doll. But It is aging me way too much.
