I puttered yesterday. I think I went up and down the stairs about 30 times. I made a huge pot of ham, string beans and potatoes (very Pennsylvania Dutch!) I did loads of laundry. I went for a walk. It was cold and damp but at least I got out of the house and moving. I went to "Wrinkle in Time" with my sister and quilty Pam. I didn't buy anything. I just poked around a little. I sewed for a total of roughly 30 minutes.
I don't feel guilty. I needed to be "not busy" for a day.
Seems like I have your Sunday kind of day all the time anymore. I truely miss summer. Seems I don't quilt much anymore at all. I guess I have worked too many years at a job that makes me physically tired, so on my days off, I don't get much done, and when I can't be out in the sunshine, I turn into a 'slug'.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. I'm back to work today after 4 days off. I bet my chair thanks me!

It sounds like a perfectly beautiful day! I love days of puttering about from one thing to another, gathering bits of joy as I travel through, mindful that the mundane tasks of life bring a peace and ease of spirit to lift us and strengthen us for the coming work week. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love days like you described. I think we hustle around so much that we don't give ourselves enough time to recharge.
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a day like that now and then.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it!

Hi Suzan,
ReplyDeleteIt is ALWAYS good to have a "down" day!
The applique on Roslynn is fused applique. I haven't done very much turned applique because I am always on a rush to meet the magazine deadline. I would love to slow down and work on something with turned applique for myself one of these days.
