OK - so it's only a secret from my mother...

I am 56 years old. I still have to keep secrets from my mother! If she finds out I am buying another sewing machine a lecture will begin. I made my sister promise not to tell. (Actually, I did a pretty good job of keeping the Janome a secret until she went up into my studio and saw that one!)

Enough of my relationship with my mother...Since so many of you left comments, I have decided to do a surprise give away!
There were 11 comments as of one minute ago. I used a random number picker and the winner is Bethany! Since this give away is just as much a surprise to me as it is to you, I have no idea what I will send you. Fat quarters? Notions? Storage container? Hmmmm...

Bethany, please email me your mailing address and I will send your surprise. Thanks for reading!!

  1. Quick, throw a big folded up piece of batting over it when she comes and tell her it's a pile of quilting supplies if she asks.

You are a big girl, Suzan. Tell her you paid all your bills for the month and you can have anything you WANT!(Then RUN!!!)

I know what you mean. It's frustrating, but I do understand.

I can't wait to hear about your new purchase!
    Blessings,
    Michelle

  5. I still have to keep those kinds of secrets too - but not from my mom. We only exchange cards - & that is a recent event. (She quit talking to me in 1995, Jacob's birth brought her back into contact...)

Guess who taught me how to hold a grudge? It's an awful trait & I fight it tooth & nail!

  7. This is funny. My mom used to trade in her bernina every few years. An amish guy in Lancaster County would sell them to her. He was a dealer and would convert the new berninas to treddle for the amish quilters. Anyway they ranged in color and type and my dad never noticed. He'd have had a fit knowing she was getting a new machine every few years. Plus she'd buy a spare every now and then. Who can have too many machines? I have 5 shhh. This so reminded me of that situation. Funny stuff.
