Another new baby!

This post has absolutely NOTHING to do with quilting. Friday night I negotiated my very first auto purchase. This is a big deal to this old broad. Men have always purchased the cars I drive. My Malibu was leased by me but it was part of a lease trade-in by my sister and there was no negotiating. I picked the color and signed a contract. Not this time, baby! I went into the dealership and gave them a pretty low monthly price that I was willing to pay. I knew that would never fly and had another number (a real number) in my mind. I sent the salesman back to his manager 7 times and waited him out. Three hours (!) later, I had the deal I wanted. I was so proud of myself! (Pretty easy to tell, right?) I pick my up my Sportage this morning. I was so excited I could barely sleep and got up at 2:30 this morning! Here she is -

I am thinking that I will be able to get a lot of fabric in the back of this vehicle. ROAD TRIP!!

  3. Yay...I hope you have the great luck with KIA that I've had. I've had a Kia Sedona Van for almost three years and I still love it. I got the van because I'm a "soccer" Mom...actually I haul the church youth group to lots of stuff. My next one will be the SUV from Kia again. Don't you love that new car smell.....
    Happy and safe driving.....

  5. Congrats!!!! I bet you're gonig to love the fact that you don't have to go up and over and in to get stuff in the trunk. I'm thinking my next car should be more truck like!! I'm killing myself taking my machine in and out so I put it in my backseat and I'm just killing my seats, marking them up from the dirt and gunk on the wheels of my cart.

  6. That is how my husband shops for a car! Several times we have left and went home and waited for them to call with a new price and the whole thing starts again. We bought from a woman one time and she looked him straight in the eye and said, "Let's not play games, I know you know, so what is your absolute lowest?" He always said that was the best deal he ever got!

Congratulations on YOUR new car! You DID it!
